What's holding you back from speaking up?
Are you nervous about presenting?
Are you concerned you'll get your facts muddled?
Do you worry about what your colleagues will think of you?
Are you scared people will criticize what you say?
Are you anxious you won’t know the answer to a question?
Do you suffer from imposter syndrome?
All these concerns are completely normal. And surmountable.

In the meantime, when you don't speak up about your work, research, cause or project, you're passing up on opportunities.
When you stay silent, you're missing out on:
boosting your career and profile
possible job promotions
grants, funding, publications
investments and collaborations
educating and informing the public
solving problems
combatting misinformation
inspiring the next generation
Speaking up is not about serving your ego; it's about serving those who'll benefit from your message.
As the late, great Nelson Mandela once said: 'your playing small does not serve the world.'

Here are two immediate ways to build and practice your skills, and boost your confidence.
1 - Book in for my intensive one-day presentation and media interview skills masterclass for professionals on June 30th. This EOFY special is capped at only 8 participants. This event will sell out fast. Don't delay.
2 - Buy my new book Speak Up – how to be a successful presenter and media spokesperson – an easy-to-use guide to empower you to step up to the microphone, share your story and make an impact. Available in print, e-book and audio format.
